Eventually, Dr. Torres started teaching David advanced concepts and equations in topics like Real Analysis.
Dr. Torres began giving David problems involving the counting of real numbers and graphing trigonometric functions to work on in his studies. After a successful start to his academic career, he transferred to the University of Texas at Arlington in 1994. Early here, David began work in the mathematics department pursuing a B.S. in math. David brought credits with him from Mountain View Junior College to accelerate his course progress. By 1996, David graduated with his B.S. in Mathematics from UTA with his eyes on graduate work.
David A Smith began graduate school in pursuit of an M.S. in mathematics directly after completing his bachelor’s degree. Throughout his graduate studies, he also worked as a graduate teacher for undergraduate students at UTA. During this time, he taught courses in business math, college algebra, trigonometry, and precalculus.
